A Little Sunday Sunshine

I headed out early this morning to a rather disappointing carbooty, but alas all was not lost as I came back home early and enjoyed a nice cuppa, some boiled eggs in my new Swedish egg cups and a read of the new book I picked up during the week. I also came home to a bunch of daff's, which Patch must of picked for me from the garden, very sweet and cheered me up no end. I adore daffodils, as once you start seeing those lovely splashes of yellow everywhere, spring is definitely on its way! So here is a lovely picture of my daff's and I hope they bring a bit of sunshine into your Sunday too!

I did manage to pick up this lovely tray during the week and the funky retro tin this morning.
Can't wait to read this, there are some amazing pictures in it that I will share with you at some point.
My eggs tasted so much better out of my new egg cups!

Have a lovely Sunday love

It's a Square!

Well i'm just so happy, my first attempts at knitting have been very successful! Earlier I passed a newsagents and saw this knitting magazine for 99p, I grabbed it without hesitation (there's not much you can get for 99p these days) and off I gleefully headed home. Now a few hours later and I've learnt to cast on and how to do a knit stitch, whoop! Knitted 40's snood here I come....
The Purl Stitch is next, this one sounds just right for Miss Curly, any tips for a beginner knitter,
gratefully received,

A Seaworthy Day

Yesterday I organised my very first event, a craft and jumble sale, raising money for my bf Patrick's marathon. I was so nervous and on the days leading up to it I hardly drank or slept. Luckily it all went fabulously yesterday and we raised over £400. The star of the day was the nautical style tombola, lovingly hand made by Patch (it's handy having a carpenter as a bf), it went down a storm with everyone! There were loads of amazing stalls and everyone was so much fun and I had a great time, but I was in bed by 9pm last night - so  tired!
My Friend Sadie with the Nautical Tombola!

The lovely Amanda's stall, Tiny Vintage.

My lovely friend Lorraine from Dr Sketchy and her I Dream in Clockwork Jewellery.

The lovely stall from smashing vintage, which I brought some amazing kitsch egg cups from!

In all the busyness and fun, I actually forgot to take a picture of me or Patch and our stalls, but never mind, there's always next time, maybe. Emma x

Be my Vintage Valentine!

I decided that I would make Patch a card this year, but had a bit of a lack of inspiration, however I found theses fabulous free vintage valentine card images from here. Really cheesy, but exactly how it should be, my favourite it the popcorn one above and the egg one below. Right better get making! Happy Valentine x

A crafty project - WW2 Snood.

I have been yapping on about learning to knit for a while now, but after talking to my boyfriends mum, it looks like it will be happening sooner than later. In a couple of weeks, she'll be popping round and helping me to get started (i'm much better when someone shows me what to do!). So, I thought I'd show you what I intend to be my first project, here's a wonderful original pattern for a WW2 snood from 1944.

I really love using a snood in my vintage hairstyles, but have struggled to find anything that looks authentic, so the crafty me (Miss Curly Pearl) got searching and hopefully i'll be showing you the end result very soon! If you fancy having a go yourself, then you can get a free copy of the pattern at http://www.knitting-and.com/knitting/patterns/hair/snood.htm

Suitcase Kitty.

My cat Albert loves him new suitcase bed, I was fed up of him sneaking in to my room and sleeping on my bed. This way he can keep nice and warm and stay super stylish. The only problem is that if he jumps in too fast then the lid flops down on top of him, just need to sort that little problem out and it will be perfect.  Now I just need to find another one for Beryl, going for a charity shop session on Friday morning, so you never know my luck.

Olive - The nautical sock pig.

I am trying to raise some money for my boyfriends marathon run in April, which he's doing for the sailors society, which I love because I can do loads of things with a nautical theme. So, I have organised a craft fair or A Seaworthy Jumble Sail, as me and my partner in crime, Lorraine, have called it and I thought some nautical sock pigs would be a perfect addition. This is the first one, I've named her Olive (from Popeye). I couldn't resist a few promo shots, she's an absolute natural in front of the camera and any girl who loves Babycham is right up my street. However, I only have until the 19th of Febuary, so I better get cracking if my vision of a Ferrero Rocher style pyramid of socks pigs is going to happen.

The girl behind Miss Curly Pearl.

I'm so excited about writing my own personal blog, I write one for the vintage boutique which I run with my friend Ella, it's called Two Little Birds after the two of us. However, since starting to blog I have really wanted to have my own, more personal blog, a place where I can ramble on and record my own random thoughts, likes and ideas. So, as i'm working on getting my blog just the way I like it, I have posted these pretty pictures - they illustrate just a few of the things I love dearly.

The top two pictures of my dear, little kitty's, you may see a lot more of these two. The white one is Albert and the black one in Beryl, they are always play fighting and guaranteed to make me giggle almost every day. The teacups represent my love of two things, a nice cuppa and vintage chintz! I love collecting tat and rummaging through a carboot or charity shop, for me this is simply the best retail therapy. The last is a picture of El and I, in the shop, i'm the blondie with the 50's dress on. I really love this picture, it basically is all about the vintage clothing!

Miss Curly Pearl came about from my constant crafting (another love) and represents me and all the pretty things that I collect or put together. I have a particular like of pin up style hair flowers and cute hair accessories, I am also going to be learning to knit and am desperate to knit a WW2 hair snood.

Well I feel great, first blog done and dusted - can't wait to get my teeth stuck in! Love Emma. x
